About Seller Tales

Seller Tales publishes step-by-step guides on the numbers side of selling online: profit analytics, Shopify apps, product research, traffic acquisition, and conversion optimization.

Who publishes this site

Seller Tales is published by JoyCraft, the small product company behind CostPilot Pro, a Shopify app for storefront audits — it scans which known app scripts load on your store and checks your connection health — and CourseSpeed, a Chrome extension for online learners. This is not an independent review site that happens to mention our products — it is a publication by the maker, and we run it that way openly rather than pretending otherwise.

Every guide still stands on its own: the method, the formulas, and a manual way to do the work come first, and they are complete without any tool. When one of our products is genuinely relevant to the topic, it appears in a clearly marked box, labeled "by JoyCraft".

How we write these guides

Our content standards

  • The complete free method comes first — formulas, worked examples, and the manual approach.
  • Every example number is labeled as an example; nothing is presented as an industry statistic.
  • Rates and fees are attributed to their official sources, or you are told to check your own account.
  • No absolute claims — no "guaranteed", no "the only way", no invented results.
  • Recommendations of our own tools are disclosed in the article and inside the recommendation box.
  • Links to JoyCraft products may carry tracking parameters (utm_source); the signature line on each article says so.

The JoyCraft relationship, in one paragraph

JoyCraft funds this site, writes it, and builds the tools it occasionally recommends. What that means in practice: editorial judgment stays with the Seller Tales editors, the free method is never held back to push a product, and anything we have not verified ourselves is either excluded or labeled as unverified. If a guide's honest answer is "a spreadsheet does this job", we say so — several of our guides end exactly there.
